Carafe and glasses

In 1994 Dutch designer Willem Noyons designed this carafe set with tumblers. First there was the tumbler. The height is equal to the height of the hand of the designer (83 mm). The dimensions of the design are defined by using the measurement system developed by the architect Dom Hans van der Laan, see www.vanderlaanstichting.nl. Width on top and bottom are taken from an increasing range of 8 sizes from 1 to 7 and developed by the benedictine monk, Dom Hans van der Laan. The caraf arises by putting a tumbler on a sphere with a volume of one liter.

The glass is mouthblown in the Czech Republic.
